The simple act of making someone something to eat, even a bowl of soup or loaf of bread, has a many-layered meaning. Sharing food suggests an act of protection and caring, of generosity and intimacy. It is in itself a sign of respect.

Welcome, friend.

As moms, we are inundated with nutrition and feeding information that can distract and deter us from our innate wisdom in nourishing ourselves and our children.  In the ever-increasing complexities and pressure to nourish the ‘right way,' we are more disconnected than ever from true nourishment in all its shapes and forms. Within this disconnect, there lives a powerful invitation—an opportunity—to forge a new path that resonates with our deepest desires for nourishing our families.

I believe this path is informed by the wisdom of the body, the deep knowing and intuition of the heart, new discoveries of the mind, and the collective wisdom of our ancestors. Through the practices of simple body-mind-heart rituals, play, and creativity, we can nourish our children from a place of trust, wonder, and curiosity.

My initiation into this work (and greatest training) came as I navigated my own children’s multiple, severe food allergies and digestive issues, which included my daughter’s years of being tube fed. The healing journey with my children catalyzed an unexpected unraveling of my own deeply held beliefs about nutrition and nourishment and sparked a deep desire to start a new conversation about how we relate to nourishment.

While my formal education includes Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Nutrition, as well as credentialing as a Registered Dietitian for over 15 years, curiosity has been one of my greatest allies on this journey, leading me to teachers and healers who have graciously supported me in the adventure of unlearning and relearning, including pursuing additional training in herbalism, somatic (body) nutrition counseling, and trauma. I am eternally grateful for these teachers, including my children and the families I’ve worked with, who have inspired and encouraged me on my nourishment path and continue to support me as I venture into new, unexplored landscapes…I hope you’ll join me as the kitchen calls us deeper into the magical alchemy of healing and life.
